Darjeeling is the Himalayan district of West Bengal and is adjacent to the state of Sikkim in India in north East India. Darjeeling district consist of three major hill divisions and plain land called Dooars covered with forest. They can be classified as Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong, Mirik in the Hills and the plains of Siliguri and Mahananda region including many National Parks and sanctuary. Railway Station. Nearby places are all linked up with roadways and airways but the major airport is Bagdogra. Bagdogra Airport (IXB) which is served by
regular Indian, Go Air, Kingfisher, Spice Jet and Jet Airways flights from Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai and Delhi on daily basis.

Kilometers by road; Kalimpong is 85 kilometers from Siliguri. Nearest railway link is Darjeeling which is connected with the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway
(UNESCO). There are regular trains from New Jalpaiguri railway station (NJP) to Darjeeling town, Kurseong, Sukhna, Malnadi, etc. The frequency of train is
better from NJP.
Roadways – National highway number 31 A connects Sikkim and Kalimpong to Siliguri, National highway 55 connects Darjeeling and Kurseong and
National highway number 31 connects Guwahati with Siliguri and it passes through the middle of the Dooars connecting all the major places of Dooars. New
Jalpaiguri railway station (NJP)/ Bagdogra Airport (IXB) links up with road to all nearby destinations and the places around Darjeeling too like Bhutan, Nepal,
Sikkim, Assam and the rest of North eastern states by road.
